Job Description

Deli Cook (Grab and Go)

 

Looking for a talented individual with a passion for cooking to work in our fast paced kitchen environment.

 

Purpose:       To prepare quality food according to deli stock recipes in a timely, efficient manner. To accurately follow production lists and to actively communicate with deli staff and coordinator in regards to production. To assist in the achievement of departmental goals. To maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.

 

Status:           Reports to Grab and Go Supervisor

 

Pay Level: III

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Accurate preparation of all deli foods, following recipes to specification
  2. Ensure work station and kitchen cleanliness
  3. Ensure proper use of all kitchen equipment
  4. Answer dock door and put away orders as needed
  5. Create and document new recipes
  6. Follow safe food handling guidelines
  7. Work with GNG Shift Lead to assist in the daily workflow
  8. Participate in departmental and storewide meetings and trainings
  9. Participate in departmental inventories and projects
  10. Other tasks as assigned by Deli Manager/Kitchen Shift Lead

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Essential

  • Self motivated, organized, responsible, flexible
  • Quick, efficient cooking skills
  • Reliable attendance
  • Professional cooking experience
  • Able to work well in a team to achieve departmental goals
  • Interested in cooking and natural foods
  • English proficiency

 

Functional

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, squat and walk for extended periods of time per shift
  • Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.  Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
  • Ability to operate equipment such as: rotisserie, Robot Coupe, food processor, shrink wrap machine, manual and/or electric scales, recalibrate and read thermometers, convection oven, stove, knives and commercial dishwasher.
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including offices, sales floor, back stock areas, and walk-in coolers and freezers.
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with customers and co-workers from various cultural backgrounds

 

Preferred

  • Multilingual is a plus
